Overview
Purchased in partnership with The Conservation Fund, the three tract acquisitions that make up Indian Mountain cover 1,114 acres of mountainous upland hardwood forest land in Cherokee County. Within the Indian Mountain Tract, the Pinhoti Trail of the Talladega National Forest connects with the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail in Georgia.

Recreational opportunities abound in this picturesque locale, including hiking, camping, hunting and wildlife observation.

Hunting
Hunters must have a valid hunting license and permit map; and follow regulations, seasons, and limits for the county in which the tract is located. The free permit maps may be downloaded here.

Directions
From Gadsden, take US-278 E for approximately 9 miles, turn left onto Beasley Rd. Follow Beasley Rd for a mile, then turn right onto Rocky Ford Rd. Drive along this road for approximately 7 miles, note, Rocky Ford Rd will become Cherokee County 24. Turn left onto County Rd 19, travel about 3 miles and turn right onto County Rd 14. After about 4 miles, turn left onto AL-9 N, travel half a mile, and turn right onto County Rd 31. Stay on County Rd 31 for approximately 4 miles before turning right onto US-411 N. Continue for 7 miles, turn right onto Cherokee County 29/Rock Run Rd, travel about 3 miles, then turn left onto Cherokee County 793. Travel about 2 miles, or until you see the parking lot on the left.
