Overview
As one of the largest and oldest state-owned public hunting areas in the state, the Little River Canyon Wildlife Management Area has historically served as a hunting mecca in Alabama. The Little River Canyon–Hancock/The Nature Conservancy addition of 1,506 acres in Cherokee County also provides many bird-watching and wildlife spotting opportunities, with bountiful fauna living within a mix of pine and hardwood forest habitats.
