Overview

Big Canoe Creek was purchased in 2018 and offers visitors the opportunity to explore 382 acres of Ridge and Valley lands containing a mix of upland hardwood/pine forest situated along the Big Canoe Creek drainage. Forever Wild and the State Lands Division have partnered with the City of Springville to develop recreational trails.

 Recreational Opportunities

Currently, there are no open recreational trails available on the Big Canoe Creek tract. State Lands Division is working with the City of Springville to develop recreational trails on the property which will include hiking, biking, horseback riding, and access to Big Canoe Creek.

From Birmingham, take I-59 North to exit 154. Turn left onto Murphees Valley Road and head North for 2.4 miles. The property is on the right.

From Gadsden, take I-59 South to exit 154. Turn right onto Murphees Valley Road and head North for 2.4 miles. The property is on the right.
