Historic Blakeley State Park will host its first-ever boat cruise to the site of one of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta’s most majestic wonders—the State Champion Bald Cypress tree near Bayou Jessamine.

Located deep in the heart of the wild Delta, this ancient tree is the largest of its species. It is rarely seen in person owing to its remote location, which requires navigating up the Tensaw and hiking over land on foot.

Trip is best suited for experienced hikers. Wear appropriate footwear for hiking through brush and some puddles and bring insect repellent just in case needed. Hike will take about 40 minutes.

Tickets are just $35 for adults/$17 for kids ages 6-12.

Depart at 9:30 a.m. from Lower Bryant Landing, about 17 miles north of the park, just off Hwy. 225, and return about 12:30 p.m..
